Elohim. Creator. It is one of the earliest names for God found in scripture, and it is the one that comes to mind every time we find ourselves standing in the middle of something breathtakingly beautiful – a coastal cliffside at golden hour, a misty mountain valley, a field glowing under the last light of the day.

Today, on Earth Day, we wanted to pause and reflect on something that sits at the very heart of what we do.

We Have Been Given a Beautiful Canvas

Since the beginning of Ivory Creek, we have had the incredible blessing of traveling to some truly stunning locations of this Earth – photographing and filming alongside couples who are up for a bit of adventure. From the Oregon coast to the rolling landscapes of Georgia, we have watched the sun sink below the horizon with such grace that never gets old. We are so deeply grateful for every single one of those moments. We believe that every landscape and location is entirely intentional.

Beauty That Points Somewhere

There is something to be said about the beauty that we have been blessed to witness. The coastal shores to the peaks of the mountain tops – what is it all for? Maybe its our God giving us a gift to enjoy. Or maybe its a moment of “look what I can do, and the beauty I can create.”

Either way you look at it, the beauty we get to photograph every single day is authored. It is not random, and it is not incidental. It is the fingerprint of a Creator who cares deeply about beauty, about detail, and about the people He placed on this Earth to experience it. Every golden hour we have ever stood in has felt less like a backdrop and more like a gift — a quiet, generous reminder of who is behind it all.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” – Psalm 19:1

Steward It Well

Earth Day is a meaningful reminder that this creation is not ours to take for granted. We want to be people who notice it, who protect it, who never grow numb to it – and who always, always let it point us back to the One who made it.

To our clients who have stood alongside us in some of those golden fields and coastal overlooks – thank you for letting us witness those moments with you. We do not take it lightly.

Happy Earth Day. May we steward this beautiful world well, and may we never stop marveling at what He has made.
